Texture seems to be an underlying theme throughout my work. Although my subject matter may vary, I prefer to paint studies of organic objects, letting my paint and brush follow curving and erratic lines. I introduce oil resists into acrylic paints, creating imperfections, crazing, and surface texture...creating a shadow of how we live our lives- hectic, yet flowing, piling on layer upon layer, peaks dive into valleys, yet trickle across ridges and cracks to find the depth that only life experiences can bring. |
