relocated from Nashville, TN

My goal in creating art is to make a connection with my subject and make an artistic expression to create a vivid response to the viewer through the chosen medium. I convey that connection while exploring my emotional response through color, texture, direction and shape as those feelings flow onto the surface.

It is that direction and shape with art that guided myself, Cynthia my wife and our pets to Paducah, Ky. It is here that our faith has taken us and the future opening of a professional art supply store that will be named Canvas Room.

I begin with the initial layer of transparent colors on watercolor paper or illustration board. After pouring the colors, moving them together and sometimes applying textured objects for variety, I let the first layer dry. I enjoy working in stages and often times work several under paintings before coming back to work into them. When a direction is recognized through color, I will move with the piece in one of my favorite mediums upon my paper guided by my senses to offer a viewer's interpretation rather than an artistic documentation. Sometimes happy errors result from indecisive feelings as in life which faith will then take shape. I then let faith guide my direction as an image begins to emerge and ultimately fills my soul with reassurance of this new final work of my artistic expression.
