Charlie Doherty has been an active performing singer/songwriter for over thirty years and has had the privilege of opening several national acts including, the legendary blues men, Roy Buchanan and Elvin Bishop, southern rockers, Molly Hatchet, The Charlie Daniels Band, The Outlaws, as well as The New Riders of the Purple Sage, Commander Cody, Johnny Paycheck, and Vince Gill (with Pure Prairie League). At present Charlie is not actively performing but is concentrating on publishing his extensive catalog of songs. His songs are being published through his BMI music publishing company, Charlie Doherty Music. A former educator with a BA from Earlham College, he is also an accomplished woodworker and an experienced traditional arts demonstrator whose handcrafted willow furniture has been featured on the cover of Mississippi Magazine, and seen in both Southern Living and Playboy.
